Doris Dede kommt ursprünglich aus Kenia und lebt heute in Berlin. Neben ihrem Studium der Anglistik ist sie ehrenamtliches Mitglied bei der Branden- burger Initiative für Flüchtlingsfrauen Women in Exile e.V. sowie Empower- ment-Coach für geflüchtete Frauen.
Als Aktivistin engagiert sich Doris auch
für diverse andere Organisationen,
die sich für die Rechte von Migrant*innen und Geflüchteten in Deutschland einsetzen. Dabei liegt ihr Fokus stets auf dem Wohlergehen von Frauen und Mädchen.

The manner in which the multiple discrimination against refugee women in Germany is based on preference, and it’s explored in the unfair and inequitable treatment that stems from the very core of our system, with biased and discriminatory laws.
No matter how much these women come from different countries with different reasons for fleeing, they all seek the same, a safe place to live, refuge.
It’s a high time to leave our comfort zones and look at the uncomfortable truth, and create the changes needed to end and annihilate discrimination, racism and sexism.
