Volunteering at TEDxPotsdam

Everyone involved in TEDxPotsdam works on a voluntary basis. Whether team members, camera people or speakers - nobody gets paid.

Every year, our dedicated team of volunteers puts on the event in their free time over months of work. Our aim is not to make a profit from the event, but simply to cover the costs. We are proud to be one of the most cost-effective TEDx events in Germany and therefore do not have to exclude anyone due to financial means.

The association: Engins e.V.

The non-profit association behind TEDxPotsdam is called Engins e.V. and was founded in 2018 by students at the University of Potsdam with the aim of creating a local network of creatives, thinkers and doers whose members inspire and support each other with new ideas that serve the common good and society. This is where the name Engins comes from: Engage and Inspire.

Another important objective for the founding of the association was to create a legal basis for the organization of TEDx events. Currently, the association's members are mainly active and former students from Potsdam or Berlin universities from various disciplines. However, membership is open to all like-minded people.
